“I want to capture the irregularity of the universe” -Jean Schlumberger

Bosky Belle is a jewelry collection that celebrates the natural world and its wildness and spontaneity. My favorite materials include raw stones, naturally shed deer antlers. fossils, snake bones and vintage coral. I set these organic treasures in a modern context to create one of a kind pieces of wearable nature.

I am a designer, maker and blogger living in Gainesville, Florida. I like to combine disparate elements into something very new: vintage with current, earthy with minimalistic, rustic with polished. My work is inspired by the natural world, and by people with a personal creative vision (both modern and historical).

Things that make me inordinately happy: the idea that both chocolate and red wine are good for you, the barking tree frog that hangs out on my bedroom window, chartreuse combined with just about any other color (yellow? cranberry? Swedish blue? Yah!), really cute shoes that turn out to be comfortable, the way my goofy Greyhound tosses her toy lion in the air when she is happy, a vintage dress where the waistline actually hits my waist,  the smell of beeswax candles, a chunk of grilled pineapple, a hand painted roadside sign,  fabulous ’70′s career lady clothes (see the Mary Tyler Moore show for some prime examples), and finding a new natural material to make jewelry out of.

I’m the mom of two daughters who have unique and very fun styles, and who open my eyes to new ways of seeing.

My amour and I moved in together two years ago. Creating a home together is an exciting creative challenge, but we’re up to the task! Our home (which is a work in progress) reflects a combination of things we each brought, combined with things we have collected together, nudging each other in new directions. We live with our animals: Luna, a neurotic geriatric poodle, Sacha, a “retired” racing greyhound rescued from the track, and Tux, who is one cool cat. We also have a dozen fish that swim in our pond, and about 100,000 bees. We got married last March right here in our living room, surrounded by the people we love, in a ceremony we created ourselves.

I like to cook, to garden, to thrift, and to explore nature and the small towns here in North Central Florida.
